Welcome
If you've made it this far, first I want to say welcome to my blog, Mama's Journey: Unfiltered. Let me introduce myself. My name is Makalyn Forbes and I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful children. I have a 2.5 year old son named Kyler and a 7 month old daughter named Wrenley. They are the absolute light of my life. I love being a mother, I am convinced it is what I was always meant to do. We have good days and bad days, I am by no means the perfect mom, but I try to be better for them everyday.
This is a heartfelt, raw, unfiltered, blog about navigating pregnancy, motherhood, postpartum, and everything in between. There is nothing easy about being a mom and if you're like me, you may wonder how a lot of these moms make it look so easy. This blog is to show you that it's not easy and no one is the "perfect mom." Motherhood is messy and challenging but also beautiful and so fulfilling. I want to capture every part of it, the good, the bad, the ugly, the sad. Some stories you read on here will be my own personal stories and some will be stories sent in by others. If you wish to share your story, simply send me an email with what you would like for me to share and if you wish to remain anonymous, I will not share your name or any information that could identify you.
I decided to start this blog because I simply love sharing my birth stories and talking about motherhood in general. I feel honored when my friends come to me with questions or advice about being pregnant or just being a mom. I am no expert, but I do believe in sharing your true experiences, tips, tricks, stories, really anything to help other moms navigate through this beautiful chaos. No ones journey will be the same, but there it no reason any of us should have to navigate through it alone. We are all on this crazy train together, why not share our insights with other moms everywhere. Throughout my blogs, I plan to share both of my birth stories, talk about my breastfeeding journey, share any tips and tricks about anything to do with motherhood, share my miscarriage story, and so much more. I told you, raw and unfiltered.
Everyone is welcome. This is a safe space to be open and free. I want all moms to be uplifted and heard, whatever that looks like for you. Share your stories with me. Share your tips and tricks to being a mom. Share your journey into motherhood. Share about your pregnancy loss or infant loss. Be raw and unfiltered. Motherhood is amazing. Pregnancy and birth is magical. Moms are some of the strongest women I know. Let's all be strong, amazing, uplifting moms together. Here is my journey. I hope you share yours with me.
